Brothers

I'm convinced there are very few things sweeter than watching your kids together. Landon has transitioned into his big brother role better than we could have expected. I honestly wasn't sure how he would transition because he isn't two yet and I didn't know how much he would understand but I am pleasantly surprised with how sweet he is with Ryder.

Landon loves Ryder. He is constantly asking to hold him, give him kisses and hugs, and is such a good helper. Sometimes he tries to help too much, but always from a good place. He makes sure Ry has his pacifier, blanket, and hat (he has a thing about hats). He also mimics what I do with Ryder with a little baby doll we have but eventually loses interest and starts wrestling it, boys I tell ya.

There have been a few times he is frustrated I can't play with him while I'm nursing or what not but no extreme acts of jealousy. More than anything he is just adjusting to having to wait for us to give him attention. Luke and I each try to have one-on-one time with each of the boys everyday. Mine usually involves baking something in the kitchen with Landon (he loves to help mix) and Luke usually takes Landon outside or down to the basement to play just the two of them.

We are still working on being gentle around the baby but I mean he is a toddler boy, gentle isn't really his style. When we get after him for being too crazy by the baby he always says "sorry ry" and gives him a kiss and then I melt.

I'm excited to continue to watch their relationship over the years. Soon enough Ryder will be able to play with Landon and the two will be causing trouble and giving me gray hair. I pray they will be best friends and always look out for each other.

xoxo.
