MY STORY
I started using essential oils because of a little elephant teether, you can find my Facebook live video on my @kelseybellessentials Facebook page for more explanation. Basically, I desired a cleaner and greener home where I could raise my kids and not worry about having to call poison control when I cleaned. My husband and I have made a goal of becoming a chemical free home in a year (by: 07/17). Once I got my Premium Starter Kit and started using the oils I found that they could be used in so many areas of my life. Being able to grab a 100% pure therapeutic grade bottle of essential oil when I need emotional support, or my kids have a fever, bug bite, or are teething, or my husband has a headache, sore muscles or needs respiratory support… and so much more - is so comforting! Oils have completely changed the way we live. We have been able to grow our collection of oils and related products by shifting money we were spending at Target or the grocery store over to Young Living. We are now using products that we LOVE and are safe and chemical free. Young Living offers hand soap, lotion, shampoo, probiotics, vitamins, dish soap, laundry detergent, oils, kid products and more! WHAT ARE PURE ESSENTIAL OILS?
An essential oil can be defined as a natural oil typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic fragrance of the plant or other source from which it is extracted. Essential oils have been around for thousands of years and offer a variety of benefits from cosmetic and dietary purposes to spiritual and religious use (hello baby jesus and the wise men!).
Essential oils are extracted through careful steam distillation, resin tapping, and cold pressing, the purest essential oils are far more powerful than the botanicals from which they come.
Many bottles of essential oil on the market claim to be “Pure Essential Oil”, but that claim can be made if the oil contains as little as just 5% of the actual essential oil from the plant in the bottle. There are no regulations for how an essential oil is to be extracted, processed, or what is added. Most essential oil companies buy their oils from an oil broker – meaning the company has no control of the growing, cultivation, or extraction process.

USING ESSENTIAL OILS
OPTION ONE// Topical Application
- Apply essential oils directly onto the skin where indicated. Dilute with carrier oils (e.g., fractionated coconut oil, olive, almond, etc) before applying if dilution is indicated in the Application Chart. Dilution may protect against possible skin sensitivities.
- Carefully tip the oil bottle and drop 2-3 drops in the palm of the hand or directly on the desired application area
- Create rollerball blends with desired essential oils and a carrier oil for easy application (I get my rollerballs here.)
Attention: Essential oils are very potent, and some may be irritating to the skin. If irritation occurs, immediately apply a carrier oil to the area to dilute. Please read the label directions for each individual oil before using. Additionally be aware of safe dilution ratios based on the age of the person they are being applied to.

- Wrists
- Over the heart
- Neck
- Bottom of the feet
- Crown of head
- Along the spine
- Behind the ears
- Abdomen
- Upper back
OPTION TWO// Inhalation
- The inhalation of essential oils heightens the senses and can trigger numerous desired responses in the body
- Direct inhalation-simply smell them
- Diffuse the oils using a Young Living diffuser which disperses the oil in a micro-fine vapor into the air. The Young Living diffuser will not heat the oils, thus ensuring full benefits, as extreme heat can damage important constituents in the oil.
OPTION THREE// Internal Consumption
- Put several drops of oil into an empty capsule and swallow with water.
- Add 1-2 drops to a glass of water for flavoring
- Put 1-2 drops onto a piece of bread or add to your meals when cooking
Only internally consume essential oils if they are labeled 100% pure and also state that they are safe for consumption. Young Living essential oils are pure, which makes them powerful and effective. For the responsible use of essential oils, read the complete label on each bottle.

Young Living was the only company that owns their own farms, guarantees that no pesticides or herbicides were used in the growing process, have their own testing equipment, do 3rd party testing, only use the first distillation of oils, and do not add chemicals to get more out of the plant. Every other company I researched goes through some sort of third party “oil broker” to buy their oils. Buying from Young Living means that I am trusting one company and they cannot “pass the buck” to someone else. Plus, Young Living allows anyone to visit the farms, participate in the harvesting and distillation, view the Young Living labs, and see the entire process for themselves. Talk about transparency!
