Rainy Day Forts

The weather has been really amazing here lately so we have been spending most of our days outside running around. We have been going on daily walks, spending a few hours kicking the ball in the yard, playing in the sandbox and soaking in the sunshine. Landon literally wakes up saying "out, out, out" to go outside and has to be drug inside at the end of the day.

I typically look at the weather every night before bed and saw that it was going to be rainy the next few days. I did a quick brainstorm on things we could do to distract him from wanting to go outside all day long. Because hearing "out" a million times when we can't go out is no fun for anyone.

I decided making a little fort to play in would be fun and something we haven't done in a while. Landon loved it! He brought toys, books and stuffed animals to cozy inside with him. He also made sure baby brother could lay by him while he played and read books.

I made it in our office and strung it up so that it had a little window for him to see outside. I put his crib mattress on the ground to make it a little softer for Ryder and then grabbed some pillows and blankets to make is nice and cozy. Quick, easy and hours of fun for a rainy day at home. Now please excuse me while I go hide from the boys and take a nap in their fort.
