Five months already… thats way to close to 6 months which is practically a year, slow down baby boy!
This month has been my favorite thus far. He really went from watching to participating. He laughs, gets bashful, listens to you, understands more and is just really showing more of his personality.
Growth
Height: 26 inches
Weight: 17 lb.
Clothing Size: 3-6 Months, About to make the switch to 6-9 Months
Diaper Size: 3
Looks
Eye color: Grayish greenish brown
Hair color: Light Brown
Expression/Features: He got his first freckle above his right eyebrow… maybe its a mole. Its the cutest.
Language
We are getting closer to the age his babbles might be words and we can't wait! Usually his grunts and squeals sounds like he is saying hey.Milestones
Firsts: Halloween, snow, meeting Uncle Kale, sitting up unsupported, solids
Other: Squirming around in circles, stronger grasp and aim, can hold items better (almost holding his bottle by himself), and expressing new emotions
Also we started solids! He was showing all the signs that he was ready for some food - watching us eat, making eating motions, eating more milk per day, sitting up a lot better, and losing his tongue reflex. The first week or two we did oatmeal cereal and was just a lick of two off the spoon. I wouldn't really call it eating. We added bananas but he still wasn't a fan.
We then decided to try sweet potatoes and he tore it up. He showed a lot more interest in eating from that point on. Just these last few days we introduced squash and he seems to like that too. We give it to him once a day, maybe 1-2 tablespoons. This next month we will continue to add more foods and go to twice a day feedings after 6 months.

Sleep
Sadly it got worse before it got better. There were a few days when he was waking up every hour or hour and a half. It was miserable. Then out of blue he slept a 4 hour stretch, then a 5 hour stretch. Its not every night but we are headed back in the right direction.Food
Two big food changes took place this month. First my milk supply went down the drain. It went from 16 oz. to 7 oz. within a day. And then I could go two days and get 3 oz. They are slowly leaking out the remaining milk but I haven't pumped in over a week and a half. Lots of soaking in the tub! Also we started solids!
