Halloween 2014

I shared this picture a month or so ago with the start of our Halloween costumes. And there it sat for three weeks, whoops. During that time Landon's head out grew the raccoon hat and the next size up was sold-out. Its a good thing I have a pretty kick-a MIL who just so happens to not only take all of our family pictures but is also a costume guru. I knew I wanted us to match, I mean that's why you have kids right? Kidding.

We had a birthday/costume party to go to this weekend so we were able to wear our costumes a little early. We did a modern day spin on Pocahontas, Meeko & John Smith. I'm pretty sure if they were around now they would probably look something like this.

My MIL made Landon's mask & tail and also reshaped Luke's scrub top to look more like armor. She is the bees knees. Tip: make the tail flat so that they can sit/lay on it. I was able to super glue my way through my feather headband. The rest of our costume pieces we either had or bought as is. I prefer making adult costume outfits out of items that can be worn again over an actual costume that you can only wear once or twice.

I'm pretty pleased with our little Pocahontas themed Halloween trio. We are dressing up again on Friday to go see relatives and soak in the Halloween day fun. Next year Landon will be walking (we hope) and eating candy (on special occasions) so it will be even more fun to dress up and go trick or treating! Maybe will do another Disney theme or go a little more scary. Have a safe and spooktacular Halloween week!  (PS: I'm going to try to get a better family picture on Halloween)
