The 4 month mark is the official graduation from newborn to infant (yes there is a difference). He is happiest right when he wakes up and then goes into observer mode and just watches everything going on around him. He wants to be on the go so badly. He is usually squirming, kicking, and starting to roll over both ways. He is also the drooliest baby there ever was. I have to change his top three times a day because he soaks them from his slobbering. He is also about 2 inches shorter and 1.5 pounds lighter than his 10 month old cousin.

Clothing Size: 3-6 Months

Diaper Size: Opened our first box of threes this past weekend 

Eye color: I swear he has chameleon eyes, different every day

Hair color:  what hair? It is actually starting to come back some

Expression/Features: He's really into letting his mouth hang open, big toothless smiles & a quivering lip

Language 

Talking more and more everyday. I love hearing his babble and laughs. He is starting to try to mimic the noises we make.

Firsts:  night sleeping in crib, homecoming, tux (thanks great grandma bonnie), pumpkin patch, roll from back to belly, cold/flu :( , and sleepover with Aunt Peyton
Other: developed different cries, responds to affection, reaches for toys, recognizes voices and faces from a distance, holds head steady unsupported, pushes to elbows on stomach, rolling both ways

Sleep

Oh sleep. It is but a distant memory. His sleep is worse than when he was a newborn. However I'm not searching for solutions, stressing over his habits or creating any expectations for the future.

Food

This month I experimented with cutting down pumps. I feel most comfortable with 3 pumps per day. I dropped several ounces but overall it works for me. He is still getting mostly breast milk with a little more supplemental formula. My next pumping goal is 6 months (goal #3)… I will do my best. Our doctor said he's gaining steadily enough that we can wait another month before cereal.

Likes: Kisses on his neck and belly, bath time, being outdoors, spit bubbles, sucking on anything near his face, when daddy makes silly noises (video here), reading books, laying on his fur rug in his diaper and looking at his mobile or mirror & playing games like peek-a-boo & patty cake
Dislikes: Going to sleep for the night - he fights it, the taste of milk when he isn't hungry, his highchair, getting shots, and when daddy doesn't wake up at night to feed him… oh wait maybe that last one was from mommy ;)
