A European vacation is my dream. Below I've listed a few of my favorite listings.
South of France

Bio
This glamorous South of France villa with a heated swimming pool sleeps up to 10 adults and 4 children plus 2 babies and is close to the town of Pézenas. It’s a beautiful family home, with pared back decor and lovely outdoor lounging and seating areas. The pool is the perfect place to play, and if you want to visit the beach, Sète is just under an hour’s drive away. We love the laid back luxurious style and the sense of space. It’s a great spot for a large family gathering, a holiday with a group of friends and their kids, or a multigenerational break. Note that there are balconies and ungated stairs so small kids might require supervision. The family's housekeeper stops by daily to make beds and tidy up - this extra perk is included in your nightly rate.

The Fig Cottage (photo via kidandcoe.com) |
Bio
This compact lovingly renovated cottage, sleeping 2, is one of the oldest cottages in the north of Kefalonia and has a shared pool. A short drive from glamorous Fiskado, it’s also walking distance from the beach and local shops and tavernas. Inside, the decor is thoroughly rustic chic, with whitewashed ceilings and original stone walls, and there is a double bedroom, kitchen/living space and small shower room. Outside a large flower-filled terrace has views of the gardens and sea. With a sofa bed that could sleep another 1-2, this residence is suited to a small family of 3-4. It is better for children 5+ as it is not fully child-proofed. For larger groups, it can be booked with its sister property, The Lime Residence, sleeping a total of 6-10 people combined.

Amsterdam

The Lothariuslann Residence (photo via kidandcoe.com) |
Bio
This three-story Amsterdam home in the family-friendly suburb of Bussum is white, light, bright and ideal for a family of up to 2 adults and 2 children plus a baby. With a boy’s and girl’s bedroom, both with junior beds, plus an attic bedroom for parents, it particularly suits younger children, and a travel crib can be added for those who need one. This being Amsterdam, the hosts also offer a variety of bikes and scooters to borrow, with child seats where needed. We love the designer touches: stunning light fittings, silver birch print wallpaper and pretty trinkets and the back garden for a touch of summer sunshine. It might be just outside the city, but with beaches, forests and playgrounds within easy reach, and Utrecht and Amsterdam just 20 minutes away, it’s a great blend of city and suburban life.

This family residence in a central district of Barcelona sleeps up to 2 adults and 3 children and is walking and cycling distance from the city’s key attractions. A typical 1900s flat, it’s charming with tiled floors, white walls and plenty of toys and games. Browse the markets and bring home food to cook up in the kitchen; borrow bikes and cycle to the beach or zoo, or spend afternoons wandering the old town. It’s the perfect opportunity to be a sightseer in the city and get the local vibe, with such a well placed family-friendly apartment.

London

The Shebrooke Road Residence (photo via kidandcoe.com) |
Bio
Life revolves around the kitchen in this 3-bedroomed London home, sleeping up to 8 + 1, where the ceiling is almost completely constructed from skylights, giving a view of the local church. It’s a lovely area, between Fulham and Parsons Green, and a short walk from the nearest butcher’s, supermarket and park. We like the way they’ve balanced the needs of family life - a cozy lounge and a playroom upstairs - with designer touches. It’s a desirable home-from-home in a classy part of the city, within easy reach of great child-friendly attractions and the city too.
