Time for another post about must have items for baby! I posted the must have 0-3 month items a few months ago and because I love series (e.g. my weekly chalk board posts & Landon's monthly updates). So I'm onto 3-6 month must haves.
Must Haves:
….Activity Gym
We used this activity mat for Landon but I am in love with the wooden Land of Nod activity gym. It's on the top of my want list for the next baby. Around the 3 month mark Landon started to show more interest in his surroundings which made the activity mat perfect.
….Chewable Toys / Bracelet
Any toy goes straight to the mouth. I found this elephant at Target before we had him because I have a thing for elephants and reminded me of Sophie the Giraffe for half the price. Landon has a thing for elle too (thats what we named her) and he attacks her on the daily. We have this teething bracelet in the diaper bag at all times. Perfect for an on the go distraction and teether. The store that makes the bracelet makes really cute necklaces for mama's to wear too. Of course you need to monitor babies at all times when using smaller teething toys.
….Baby Cereal & Food
They (the people who make up guidelines) recommend babies starting solids between 4-6 months. Landon started around 5. Either way load up because you never really know what the little ones will like or the ones that they will just spit back at you in your face, I'm looking at you squash. Or you can go the make-it-at-home route and if thats you, I'm guessing you're a first time mom. I've made a few but not nearly as much as I thought I would.
….Bibs
Why do they have cloth bibs? All they do is get soaked and stained 2 seconds after you put it on. We switched mostly to rubber ones around 6 month and I wish we would have sooner. I especially love these Tommee Tippee Bibs with the pouch, not having to pick up 8,000 puffs off the floor at the end of the day, win.
….Exercauser / Jumparoo
I don't think you really need both although they do have slightly different features. Landon has used both and loves both although he liked the exerciser first. The Jumparoo is better for a little bit older baby. Either way you only need one because they are really similar and take up a lot of room.
….Mirrors
Babies love to look at themselves, conceited little boogers. We have a long one down by his play area so he look at himself whenever he is doing tummy time or sitting. We also have several smaller ones that we attach to random objects wherever he is playing.
….Books
Reading is one of Landon's favorite things to do. We read several times a day and before bed every night. I also like picking out books that have to do with the season or holiday (like this Christmas book) to keep things interesting. You can only read Brown Bear Brown Bear so many times before you want to shoot the Brown Bear. Kidding.
….Soft Shoes
Ok so I guess this isn't a must have but at the top of the list of want to haves. What is cuter than a baby in chucks? Nothing. I just ordered these cute shoes for Landon the other day and am oh so patiently waiting for them to arrive.
….Bumbo
We used the bumbo a lot! Practicing sitting, feedings, anytime mom needed her arms for a minute. He is using it in almost all of the Christmas photos we took because he wasn't steady enough to be up on his own.
Not pictured but still a must have:
….Mesh Crib Bumper
We moved Landon into his crib around 3 months. Once those little ones start rolling around the mesh crib bumper is a must. It protects them from knocking their head into the wood & getting their limbs stuck between the slots.
….SIDS Monitor
The monitor goes under their mattress and detects if they are breathing/have micro movements per 30 seconds. I don't think I would have slept soundly without it. I was lucky enough to be able to borrow my sisters and am forever grateful.
