Sleeping like a Baby (Part 2)

As I mentioned last week, we decided to sleep train Landon. We chose to do the sleep sense method because I was most comfortable with the techniques. Also it was the most practical with us being in the same room as him. If you have questions about the method you can check out their website HERE or ask me and I'll be more than happy to answer them.

Naps
2. Fell asleep at 12:10 pm
3. Fell asleep at 2:38 pm
Notes: Landon falls asleep much faster if we don't respond much to him. Also we waited between 5-10 minutes before getting up and checking on him during all wake-ups.
Naps
2. Fell asleep at 11:23 am
3. Fell asleep at 3:15
Notes: We put him down over an hour earlier than the first night to see if he had been staying up too late and was overly tired.
Asleep at : 6:30 pm
Naps
2. Fell asleep at 10:30 am
3. Fell asleep at 1:00 pm
4. Fell asleep at 3:30
Notes: A little fussier today from getting shots the day before which is why I think his naps weren't the best and also why we did four naps instead of three.

Success! Highly recommend to everyone struggling with their baby sleeping.

I cannot believe on night 3 we put him down and he got himself to sleep with zero tears, not even a tiny fuss. Clearly the kid wanted to learn how to sleep as much as we wanted him to. Also, in only three nights we went from him waking up every 60-90 minutes all night long to just 1 time!

Landon only knew how to fall asleep by eating, so bad I know. Now he only takes one bottle. We debated on going to no nighttime feedings but it seemed so cruel to do it right away when he was use to getting half his food for the day during the night. We will continue the nighttime feed while gradually cutting down the amount until its gone. There maybe a few more tears when that happens but we will handle it.

He rarely took naps longer than 30 minutes and although we still have some that are only 45 minutes, it will continue to improve. The book says by week 2, naps show a lot of improvement. The hardest part is juggling my schedule to make sure he is home or somewhere to nap in a crib/pack n play.

Also now that he is sleeping longer amounts and his schedule is adjusting, I want to push his bedtime back to around 7/7:30 rather than 6/6:30 so that Luke can spend more time with him and he (and I) can sleep in longer. I'll push it back about 10 minutes each day till its at the right time.
