12 Weeks

First of all, thank you for all the sweet comments on the announcement of our second baby! It quickly became one of my most popular posts. And now weekly bump updates and the (new) chalkboard have returned! Luke is pumped to be taking my picture weekly again, like super pumped. I really am going to try my best to do it weekly but with a toddler-baby who tries to eat the chalk like its a cracker while ninja kicking me in the shin all while I'm writing on the chalkboard, we will just see.

How far along : 12 weeks

Baby Size : Plum

Weight gain : 0lbs - starting this pregnancy heavier than the last

Gender : Ultrasound is the week of Halloween! Already thinking of fun Halloween themed gender reveals - any fun ideas?

Sleep : Decent, unless Luke starts snoring in my ear and breathing hot air on my face. I had to talk myself into just nudging him to move over and not punching him in the face. Blame it on the baby hormones.

Cravings : I've had a lot of aversions the first 10 weeks but it's not so bad now. Mexican food still sounds disgusting. But as far as cravings - sweets are always  a go to & lots of water.

Symptoms : I already got my first pregnancy cold, boo! Getting morning sickness first thing in the morning when I wake up but other than that I can't complain.

Mood : Better. Is better a mood? I'd be lying if I said the news of another baby didn't come without fear, uncertainty and worry. With any major surprises in life, especially for a Type-A planner like so, it takes a little time to adjust. Don't get me wrong, I'm beyond excited and overjoyed to bring another baby into the world but I questioned my ability and readiness. The verse below helped restore my confidence.

Verse of the week : Psalm 127:4 "Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are the children born in one's youth." God has entrusted us with not one but two children and I feel so grateful to be chosen to love and raise them.

Best Moment of the week : Hearing the babe's heartbeat for the first time. It's always a relief to hear it beating along strongly and to enter into the safer second trimester.

Looking forward to : Fall! I'm ready for some cooler temps, pumpkins and gourds galore, soups and chili, Halloween, and everything else Autumn. Is Landon too young to be introduced to The Nightmare Before Christmas?

Random fact of the week : I'm pretty much in full on maternity clothes already. My belly did not pop this much this fast last time. I guess it just knows what its doing this time around. I'm embracing the looser more comfortable clothing rather than trying to squeeze into non maternity clothes for a few more weeks.
