First Birthday Planning + Wish List

We are celebrating Landon's first birthday next Saturday with a camping theme. I'll be out of town next week and won't get home until the night of his birthday / the day before his birthday party. I'm a little bummed to be missing the morning of his first but this is all part of being a working mother.

I spent a lot of time this past week getting ready for his party. Fingers crossed we don't get rained out. Below I have some sneak peak photos and his birthday wish list.

Birthday Wish List

Books
I'm always looking for new books and a birthday gift just gives me another excuse. I picked up THIS one while camping over memorial weekend (and gave it to him already) and also ordered THIS classic turned baby book off of Amazon. You may have seen both in his 12 month photos I posted last week. Daddy also picked out THIS one for him to open on his actual birthday.

Sandbox
I really want to get Landon a sandbox. My only must is for it to come with a lid so that the neighborhood cats don't use it as a community litter box.

Water Stuff
We also know Landon is going to be getting a water table from one of my sisters. He is going to love it!  As much as he loves bath time, he will be thrilled to be allowed to splash and play in the yard. THIS version is freakin' amazing if budget isn't a concern. For the rest of world Walmart sells a plastic version for around $30 :) My other sister is getting him a blow-up pool similar to THIS one. Which I basically wish came in an adult version with a beverage holder.

Wagon
I think a wagon would be amazing to have for the summer. Strollers are great but every kid needs a little red wagon. I especially love the Radio Flyer with two seats for multiple kids. I can totally see us carting Landon down to the parade on the 4th of July or trick or treating on Halloween.

Wheels
How do boys just know to play with anything that has wheels? One of Landon's favorite toys is this wooden car carrier that he got from his Grandma for Easter. These construction vehicles are really cute too. I know a certain two year old nephew that would be super jealous if Landon got these.

Kiddie Table
Why is mini furniture so stinking cute! This ikea table is cheap and a little paint or stain would make it really cute. I ordered it for Landon for both his birthday gift and to use during the party. I also tried talking my mom into getting this outdoor version for on the beach at her lake house. (The matching chairs are just as cute).

Yard Toys
We are in the stage of being just like daddy. I don't know if that stage ever really ends. A toy lawn mower or mini wheelbarrow would be the perfect way for Landon to participate when we are outside working on the yard.

Daniel Tiger
The modern Mr. Rogers is Landon's favorite. Mostly for the first 40 seconds when they sing the intro song but nevertheless daddy picked out the cutest Daniel Tiger stuffed animal. We showed Landon a picture of it on the computer and he started smiling and bouncing like he does during the theme song.

I'm sure there are a million other things Landon would be thrilled to get for his birthday but he will probably be happiest just to get to tear into some wrapping paper. And to eat cake. I plan on doing a full party post after his birthday.
