3 Month Update

My baby is a quarter of a year old already! He is getting more and more of a personality and we love it. We now have more interactive play time where Luke & I take turns doing nothing short of circus routines to make him laugh. This month I also went back to school so our schedule has changed some. Separation anxiety is a real thing but it helps looking at photos and videos of him on my phone in-between classes. Another major milestone is saying goodbye to the dreaded colicky hours! He still gets fussy before bed but not even close to how it use to be.

Growth

Height:  24.5 inches
Weight:  14 lbs  1 oz
Clothing Size: 3-6 Months
Diaper Size: 2

Looks

Eye color: Some days it looks brown and others a slate gray
Hair color:  Brownish red - its sparse on the top so he looks like an old man
Expression/Features: He's got the cutest pout when he is tired

Language

coos, crowing, babbling & laughing

Milestones

Firsts:  swim, labor day, full day (10 hours) away from mommy,
Other: tracks objects with his eyes, grasps toys and clothing and starting to lose his reflexes (like the startle reflex which would wake him up every 30 seconds)

Sleep

We have been letting him determine his own schedule. However we do have a few anchors to help guide him such as the same bedtime and wake time each day and not letting him go longer than 3 hours without a nap. Right now he sleeps 9am-9pm but wakes up 2-3 times during the night to eat. He also has 3-4 naps during the day. He usually has one good 2 hour nap and the other 2-3 are less than an hour.

Food

Right around the same as we were last month. Almost all expressed breast milk with some supplementing when he is extra hungry. The only difference now is that I'm freezing more because we are apart 2.5 days a week. Next month the doctor will let us know if he is ready to start being introduced to solids but it will most likely be closer to 5 months.

Favorites

Moment: Watching uncle Hunter play football and aunt Ronnie run cross country
Likes: people watching, chewing on his hands or arm, making spit bubbles, bath time, snuggling his blankie, getting talked to, and being outside
Dislikes: having to wait more than 1.5 seconds for milk, tummy time and getting held like simba
