I'm so excited to be able to celebrate my husband on his first Fathers Day! According to him, he technically isn't a Dad yet but I disagree and I love buying people gifts so he'll just have to suck it up and get spoiled. He actually said all he wanted for Fathers Day was for me to have the baby - if only I had that kind of power! Anyways, I decided what he needed was a little survival kit for when our baby trooper does arrive. I came up with all the essentials he would need while I'm not around or when I have a "do not disturb" sign stapled to my forehead.
The New Daddy Survival Kit consists of a Guide, Secret Weapons, Nocturnal Mission Supplies, Bomb Disposal Essentials, Medical Necessities & a spare Uniform for both baby and daddy - All in one convenient area for Daddy to grab on the go. Pretty much I'm trying to save Luke from causing a major Charlie Foxtrot (cluster f***).
Guide
Guide: I found this awesome book through another blog and thought it would be the perfect go-to-guide for Luke, it's pretty much like basic training for a new dad. It's written by an ex-British Armed Forces guru so it has tons of manly jargon and military terms explaining the baby world. Also it's written in a mostly bulleted format so it's not so overwhelming for him to read.
Secret Weapons
Secret Weapons: A pacifier and a few toys because sometimes babies are fussy or need some entertainment and I would like to avoid Luke giving our 3 week old his phone to play with - just saying.
Nocturnal Mission Supplies
Nocturnal Mission Supplies: I split the supplies into On Duty & Off Duty because every good military force takes shifts for night-watch. The On Duty includes an energy drink (for the daddy), a bottle, burp rag and post-it of how to prep a bottle. The Off Duty is a pair of earplugs - which I will gladly take over on my Off Duty hours :)
Bomb Disposal Essentials
Bomb Disposal Essentials: Diapers, Wipes, Diaper Rash Cream, & Hand Sanitizer. I can see Luke going somewhere with baby boy & not packing any diapers or wipes so that's the point of this little area.
Medical Necessities
Medical Necessities: Basic first aid kit with infant Tylenol & the phone number to our pediatrician.
Uniform
Uniform: This onesie is mostly meant as a joke but its also a good spare outfit to have for when baby boy has a blow out or throws up all over himself. I also included a spare white t-shirt for daddy incase the contamination spreads.
Happy Fathers Day to all the wonderful Dads out there - whether you're a first timer too or a well seasoned Grandpa this day is just for you so let yourself get spoiled :)
